Jim,

I've used both the SDR pipe and normal PVC up to sch 120. I then turned to
using PVC Heat Duct pipe. It has thin walls and comes in diameters up to
at least 24" which makes larger secondaries much lighter. Originally, I
had some concerns about it being gray (possibly due to carbon in it),
however, although I didn't specifically measure it, I did not see any
noticeable difference in performance.

Here's a link to one company that sells it:

Cool, and it's about 2/3 the price of drain pipe (20' is $250 for drain pipe) - this is about $150 for 20 feet.

Now to find a local supplier in the Los Angeles area.

Does anyone have practical experience with PVC plastic pipe, comparing
SDR (Sewer) vs D2729 (Drain) - the drain pipe is about half the wall
thickness (0.1", 2.5 mm) and is cheaper and lighter.
