I get all of the magnet wire that I need from E-Bay vendors. Here is an example of a spool that I just bought. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Magnet-Wire-26-Gauge-AWG-Enameled-Copper-1260-Feet-Tesla-Coil-Winding-200C/182011484859?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 You want what is called heavy-build insulation for use on secondary coils to achieve maximum insulation. It is best to apply a few coats of varnish to the completed coil mainly to help hold all of the wire in place. Insure that the coil is slowly spinning while the varnish dries, otherwise it may pool into drips at the bottom and otherwise form a coating of inconsistent thickness. ----- Original Message ----- From: "YESN via Tesla" <tesla@xxxxxxxxxx> To: tesla@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, January 8, 2018 1:10:46 AM Subject: [TCML] Secondary Coil Wiring Hey, Does anyone know good places to buy wiring? I can’t seem to find enough metres, they all sell 20-67 metres while I need somewhere around 400. The diameter I am going to use is 0,4 mm. (Perhaps stupid question but: the wiring needs to already have a coating right? And is it recommended to coat the entire coil afterwards?)
