My recommendation is to buy a 10 lbs spool (possibly already used), use
what you need, then sell it on eBay. Yes, the wire should be enameled
already. The difference in enamel rating is usually temperature. The
additional coating you add just gives so physical robustness and additional
voltage insulation to the coil.
