If the sparks below the lower terminal are real, because they may besomething created by the camera, it's because the lower shield is notgrounded, and the electricity is seeking ground through the powersupply. It's enough to connect the shield to the power line ground. Theaverage current is small, as this is a VDG and not a Tesla coil, andshall not create interference problems.
