Indeed, but it seems they are always DC by design and only (-) polarity. I got two on order i wonder if the output is isolated if i could chain them in series to produce a virtual positive. from what i see the (+) is usually tied internally to ground or the (+) DC input (odd). i see a 7KV AC generator but id need to double that to be any use (+/- 3.5KV). ive secured an old microwave oven so im looking into using the transformer and voltage multipliers but again i see way more current than i need. what i really need is an older flyback without integrated rectifier diode i wish i kept the one i had :( ----- Reply message ----- From: "David Speck" <Dave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Tesla Coil Mailing List" <tesla@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [TCML] Voltage/power dissapation drop across HV DC current limiting resistors. Date: Mon, Sep 28, 2015 10:45 PM Matt, Ion generators usually have outputs in the milliamp or less range. Would probably be just about right for a VDG. If so this seems perfect although i dont see an output amperage. > > Sent from my HTC > > ----- Reply message ----- > From: "David Speck" <Dave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: "Tesla Coil Mailing List" <tesla@xxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: [TCML] Voltage/power dissapation drop across HV DC current limiting resistors. > Date: Mon, Sep 28, 2015 11:53 AM > > Matt, > > In today's eMail I received an offer from Goldmine Electronics for a 15 > KV negative ion generator that runs off 12 VDC for $10.
