I have been following this thread on 833A VTTC's but it appears the thread stopped at the second response. I was hoping for more replies and information. I have a VTTC using two 833A's in parallel that I built back in the late 1970's and I want to rebuild it using nice ceramic sockets for the 2 filament pins. I have 4 or 5 833A's and figured I would build a second VTTC when I rebuild my 37 year old one. The system was a perfectly working Staccato VTTC BUT with the 833C, the Staccato mode didn't work properly any longer. I never found an explanation for this.
