Thanks, understood.

Hi Doug,

Yes, run your sec. ground down as close to the sec. as possible. I usually
bolt the wire lug flat against the secondary pointing down. Drill and tap a
1/4-20 hole through the metal termination strap and coil form. Hold the
lug/wire in place with a 1/4-20 nylon bolt. Run the ground wire about an
inch below the underside of the platform then bend a 90 degree angle in it.

Thanks Tim. I don't think I was clear with my question,What I was looking
for was the actual routing of the bottom wire of the secondary through the
platform on which sits the primary so as to not be in too close proximity
to the primary. I understand that routing through the center of the
secondary is not i good idea, so would I just drill through the top
platform as close to the secondary mount as possible?
I am researching everything I can find on TC construction but sometimes
the smallest details are what are missing,And my motto is, (Get Advice Or
Do It Twice) LOL
Thanks again Tim.

The secondary bottom will go to electrical house ground. If a larger sized
coil is made - it will go to both electrical ground and RF ground (made
with a 4-8 copper pipe in the earth or large sections of Hardware
cloth/Chicken wire directly placed under the tesla coil - ensuring its
considerably larger than the top load).

The secondary top "should" go to a top load of either a sphere for smaller
distributed multiple sparks or to a donut shaped toroid which provides
some
additional minimal capacitance and will allow build up of sparks to be
longer in length.

Gentlemen; I am building my first Tesla Coin rated at around 250.000

Thank you for any help you can provide.
