I think he uses an external diode with his IGBT's, so he does use the
HGTG20N60A4
instead of the HGTG20N60A4D's. In one coil he's even used the IXXH100N60C3
IGBT's.

The HGTG30N60A4D's should work, as long as your resonant frequency isn't
super high. Tom's coils have resonant frequencies of around 130kHz-200kHz.

I'd try the FGA65N60SMD's, they've been quite reliable in small coils.
Fabricio has used the HGTG40N60A4D's up to around 350A, you could try
those. They're also cheaper than the HGTG30N60A4D's
