Here's the commercial version of that: http://www.xrackpro.com/They do work... you might be able to modify a surplus steel fully enclosed rack for the purpose, using blu-tack and other sound dampening products meant for car stereo purposes. (when you're blasting the beats as you cruise the streets, you don't want your door panels rattling... that just sounds lame)
