Re: [TCML] Tesla Coil Wiring

   Kuba,
The drawing is correct on placement of spark gap, that is how both of my TC's are wired.  The gap is a switch - the wider the gap the higher the voltage to close the switch.  It sits there with the proper gap (open) and when the tank cap gets enough power it will arc (close) across the gap discharging the tank..and then do it again.  This is happening many times per second !

The 10 mega ohm resistors should be wired in parallel with each capacitor as they are a safety thing and very important .  They look to be wired in series on diagram.

There are some very informative web pages to glean info.  Check and double check and you may consider a Terry Filter to protect NST.  Not absolutely necessary , but good insurance and cheap to build.

Here is a better diagram of the MMC http://postimg.org/image/vptl7mjox/

My only question is concerning the position of the spark gap. In most
diagrams of Tesla coils, both outputs of the transformer connect without
any interruption but the cap MMC and the primary coil. The spark gap only
seems to be fired when the circuit cannot hold any more energy. This just
looks a little problematic to me as both ends of the transformer are
connected without the spark gap blocking the connection, but just waiting
for a surge of energy to shoot across the gap.  From looking at other
diagrams online, the drawing in the first email should be correct, but I am
just not 100% sure.
