Hi Jim, Krux, IIRC, that may fall under the category of "electret". I was carrying the 4.5" diameter secondary with top load attached across the room when I noticed it had a charge on it.. The charge was minimal at first, like if you are building up a static electric charge on something, and then when I was half way into the room it crossed into a "hey.. Ow.. Either that or my movement some how built up a static charge.. But has anyone heard of/experienced something like this before. > > this has been noticed by lots of folks. It's not magnetic fields, but electrostatic. Your coil has a nice insulating surface, so the secondary makes a fine capacitor. I forget what it gets called if you want to search the archives. "residual charge" would be a good start. _______________________________________________ Tesla mailing list Tesla@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.pupman.com/mailman/listinfo/tesla _______________________________________________ Tesla mailing list Tesla@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.pupman.com/mailman/listinfo/tesla
