Modern X ray machines are now using TC's for their HV supplies.
Air core resonant transformers? Or switching power supplies with a powdered metal/ferrite core?
I have an several decades old GE X-ray HV system that runs at 500 Hz, to save iron mass.
Running the power supply at 10s of kHz or more has been pretty common for at least the last 20 years.
But I don't consider a switching power supply a "tesla coil".I suppose this gets into the "what is a TC". Is a DRSSTC a tesla coil, or just a fancy air cored switching HV power supply.
The one I saw was around 100KV at 100 ma.
That's a typical size for a portable Xray system. _______________________________________________ Tesla mailing list Tesla@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.pupman.com/mailman/listinfo/tesla
