Okay, well I'm not too bothered by the performance side of things with
regard to this, what I meant really was more along the lines of safety -
i.e. having non-earthed metal near the primary coil.. charge could build up
on the screw and, without any path to ground, could stay there
indefinitely, possibly becoming a danger if someone was to touch it
(unlikely, I know!). Is that non-sense? I guess the likelihood of anything
coming into contact with the screw is sufficiently low to not worry about
it.
