Say I have 4 nts’s paralled with a total output of 9000v @ 210ma rating. What is the formula to calculate the charge time of a cap in this current limited situation.
to a first order, NSTs are a constant current source, so V = i*t/C
What they *really* look like is a huge inductance in series with a HV
supply. (in your example, that inductor has a reactance of about 45k ohms)
if the reactance of that inductor starts to get close to the reactance
of the capacitor, you're getting into an area of resonant charging,
where the simple model doesn't work any more.
