Re: [TCML] Airforce Test Facility Story

Hi Carl,

The rotary spark gap suffered a catastrophic failure at Wendover, and this, combined with a lack of funding, disabled the system. When the Wendover facility lease expired, the system was moved to Leadville, Colorado, reassembled and repaired. However, it never performed well in Leadville. The system was eventually dismantled and stored within a couple of semi trailers. The parts were ultimately purchased by a scrap dealer and HV/Tesla enthusiast in Texas, but it was never again assembled and fired up. The system was eventually scrapped in Texas. For many years afterwards, Bob Golka tried to get funds to resurrect another system, but his efforts were unsuccessful.

Does anyone know about the present state of this coil?
