That is good that it works alright for you, though the limitation here is
really the 74HC14 input and its hysteresis band. For small signals, the
trigger threshold difference will cause more/less phase shift. At highest
currents, though, your signal is pretty large so the zero-current detection
should be pretty good. And indeed, it looks like you are getting good
results, so great!
