You know you only need a HV probe to measure between the C and L node on
the primary. This is assuming you are using a DR. If this is the case
the you can test on ether of the outputs of the bridge.
In the case of a SGTC you would need a HV probe. I have seen many on
ebay for modest price. If you do buy one get a capacitive divider type
probe.
You may also find this interesting as well. On 4hv I have been following
a thread about building a DIY based HV probe for oscilloscope. It seems
like it may work for what you are doing.
