What type of capacitors are you guys using for the phase controller?

I am a novice and the one I built works perfectly. The time you would invest in figuring out the controllers cap size and circuitry far outweighs the time you would invest in fiddling around with an adjustable cradle or shaft position. Brad, It's hard to adjust phase properly by just shifting the disc on the shaft. The position can be very critical. It helps if the motor is the type that is mounted in a cradle. This way you can leave the cradle screws slightly loose so the motor can be rotated to various positions, and each position can be tested to find the best position (longest spark output) by trial and error. Either that or build my phase controller circuit. http://futuret.110mb.com Cheers John

test them. they are not that expensive, i think 7.5 uf was good for about 40 degrees on my oriental motor.
