Re: SV: [TCML] DdRSSTC driver board with parts
I get 14 foot arcs using CM600 bricks and one of
Steve Ward's controller boards which also
supports a fiber optic trigger. You would have
to scrounge your own components and stuff the
board but for some of us the construction phase
is the best part. Oddly, the most challenging
aspect of constructing a large DRSSTC is
designing a power supply with the cojones to
drive such a beast. Steve can provide
construction details of a boost converter which is more than equal to the task.
This arc measured 14'2"

Is it possible to see a working coil with this
system of yours? Driving big brick like the
CM1200 is not an easy task! I've been working
with Finn Hammer on his huge drsstc named
thumper for some years now. And I can tell you
that driving a bridge of CM600 and getting 13
feet of sparks is not easy. Cheers, Daniel

<tesla@xxxxxxxxxx> We recently completed testing
on our our DRSSTC driver board design. I will
have stuffed boards available in early Feb. The
unit can be adjusted to work with Powerex CM300
(4-5 ft spark), CM600 (6-8 ft spark, and even
CM1200 wih spark lengths up to 16 feet. It has
proven very robust and reliable as we use a
fiber optic connection from modulator to main
board. Precise adjustment of zero cross points
can be set for each IGBT module thus allowing
near perfect efficiency! Dr. Resonance
