[TCML] Synchronous Motor Question



Still looking around for a synch motor, or a reluctance motor to modify.    Since synchronous motors have fixed poles would that not mean they are also salient pole? The rated RPM should signify if the motor is synchronous right?  Is the below motor a synchronous motor? Any problem with the horsepower?

Fuji Electric GBL 1943-5A Specifications: • 115 VAC • 1/25 HP (Approx) • 1800 RPM • 0.65 Amps • Thermally protected ventilated housing • CCW facing shaft • Capacitor start (supplied). • Shaft 1/4 dia. x 1-3/8 long with flat. • Size 3-5/8 Dia x 3-5/16" long. New.
