Yes, certainly they can be paralleled, you just have to match the Vce sat
voltage of the devices, but even a slight mis-match tends to correct itself
as a lower Vce sat device will pull a bit more current until its Vce matches
the other devices (it really wont take all the current). Looking at the Vce
vs Ic curves in the datasheet should give some insight into how this sharing
could balance out (look at the slope of Vce vs Ic near the operating
point).
Bricks are basically just a bunch of single IGBT dies in parallel, they are
of course well matched so they share nicely and yes, they work great for
tesla coils at low frequencies (< 100khz).
