I've done it with 12kv nst's and I don't think it was an issue. They
eventually burned out but I think that was due to poor circuit design
(not accounting for standoff voltage).

But theory is not reality. And I still have an old 15/30 NST which I
swapped out when I got my 15/60. So I'm staring at it wanting to try
the experiment of paralleling it with its bigger brother. But then I
think- there has to be a problem in this somewhere. Like when you
have the variac at less than full power if the 2 Vin/Vout curves are
different.
What kind of chaos could I cause by doing this (presuming I phased
them correctly)??
