I seem to recall some stuff in the archives, but in general, small scale testing is done with apparatus from companies like Draeger (you'll also see it Drager, without the umlaut). You have a sort of squeeze bulb air pump that pulls air through a tube containing some reagents that change color.

The stuff isn't cheap. The pump is several hundred dollars, because it has to pull a calibrated amount of air (100 cc per stroke, I think)... one could probably improvise something and calibrate it yourself (piston in a cylinder). The tubes are, as I recall, something like $5-10 each in boxes of 10 or 12. They are available for hundreds of things to be tested for.


It looks like Draeger has a new product called the Bio-Check Ozone, which is a little card with a circle that changes color. That might be worth investigating.
