If the electrodes are not exactly 90 degrees apart, it wouldn't really matter all that much.
It wouldn't cause the sputtering. Also if the tune point on the primary is not perfect,
that also wouldn't cause sputtering at the gap. It must have some other cause.
Could sparks be jumping from the copper electrode ring to the gap motor or the motor hub?
Or could sparks be jumping from the spinning electrodes to the fixed electrode holders,
or some other metal in the area?

SRSG, and propeller gap, I'm still fiddling with this little 4" wheel I have.
