Rats, I guess I will just get a smaller motor and mill some flats into it. or I could just use the 1/3 hp that i modified a while ago, but for just a propeller gap that seems like a bit much.

Sorry, the type of Teletype motor you want, synchronous, does not have 
brushes. That's not to say that it can't be converted with the technique 
recently discovered and posted by Clive Penfold, but what you have is not 
now synchronous. What markings are on the case?
