Re: [TCML] How To Turn A Vacuum Cleaner Motor Into A Synchronous Motor

Here is a link of the motors I will use for modification (please excuse this stupid video where I kill such a motor with overvoltage):

Here in Germany nearly all washing machines use this type of motor, maybe in USA there are brushless induction motors arround?

I was going to post this: I thought that washing mashine motors were
induction motors - not brush/universal motors? But I've not looked
closely/recently.

But before hitting Send, I Googled "Washing machine motor". There appears
to be both 1725 induction-types, and then 10,000+ RPM types. Perhaps
regionally?

Of significant interest was this link to a Chinese motor vendor, advertizing
3000RPM synchronous washing machine motors:

Next week I get some 1000V 6A diodes. Then I will modify a 800W universal
motor from a washing machine and do the scope test (with magnets and pick up
coil) to see, how good it sync's to the line frequency.
Will put a video of this to youtube. The torque of the "Pensold Motors"
should be much bigger than any modified asynch. motor with flats on its
armature.
