 Price for 1 kW tesla coil might vary from $200 to over $2000.
 Depends on the quantity and quality of parts used,type of TC...

Do you want your tesla twin system to be silent or a loud one?
Spark gap coil generating 5 ft discharges is a pretty loud thing. 
Glass house enclosure would block noise to some extent for sure,
but not entirely.
Speaking of the presence of small children,it is common
knowledge they are scared of loud noises.
Therefore my suggestion  :
Bipolar Vacuum tube tesla coil is almost a silent machine 
,yet it makes crazy,weird and bright (think visible!) sparks.
I love artists.They are crazy people (in a positive way).
My sister is an artist too.
