Hi Jim,I'm not sure how elevation will vary this value, but breakdown should be right at 50mils (pretty narrow). But depending on the surface of the dowels, elevation, pressure, etc.. the gap setting may need to be slightly larger a few mils to achieve a 5kv breakdown.

Hi List, Does anyone know the DC gap breakdown size for 5KV via large, flat dowels at ~800ft-1000ft elevation is? Most of what I find on the Inet are for higher voltages. I may have to trigger this, but; I am trying to keep it simple. Thanks much, Jim Mora _______________________________________________ Tesla mailing list Tesla@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.pupman.com/mailman/listinfo/tesla
