I always use like the battery terminal type clips, they are like a alligator
clip but bigger, but the end of them is curved so it makes a circle
connection, ideal for primaries... I can take a image of one if nobody knows
what I am talking about , lol

I saw someone using fuse holders for the primary taps - which I thought was
clever at the time. They fit well on the 0.25" primary winding.
I've using spring loaded clips with a 20 amp rating, but they are a bit on
the bulky side and I run the risk of shorting to adjacent coils.
