Depending on the size of your coil, say up to a 60ma input, you could 
use non resistor plug wires for the wires from the transformer to the 
spark gap.
However the tank circuit will have high oscillatory currents and this 
wire would not be at all suited for that. You would need a larger 
gage wire or tubing for the rest of the circuit.
