if i was not at collage i would go take video of my coil on top of the couple of box fans i have right now. It does seem to beg the question of if would be possible to prevent these strikes with a little wind.  i am sure that some one could make it such that the air flow was blowing up through the primary leaving plenty of room for ground strikes around it.  just a thought
