If you run your data thru JAVATC it will display your exact coeff. of
coupling. No longer any need to guess.
Ideally, for a classic type Tesla transformer, you want 0.10 to 0.14 for a k
value. This will give you good energy transfer without flashover or racing
sparks.
Since it is already wound, it will run fine with a 2.5" spacing. Also
experiment with sec elevation above pri and toroid elevation above last turn
to peak your output to max.
JAVATC will provide accurate answers to your questions.
