Hey Clive...

ever hear of the Cheap/Good/Fast Rule? Choose 2 of the 3 words and
the results will not be the unchosen word.
for example if you want cheap and fast it wont be good...

First off what do you consider a medium sized coil? My medium sized
coil uses a 28.8KV piggie...
2 Mots usually apply to a small coil.
Cheap parts usually degrade the output of the coil. Save your money and
buy the better quality items... doesnt have to be the best, but a
little better.
And do you want general building instructions, or a detailed parts list
and schematics to construct the coil? There are alot of websites out
there that list exactly what they have used in completing their
coil... check out the tesla web ring for the available sites... read
and compare what others have done...

Building a coil is alot of fun and seeing the streamers swinging thru
the air is even more satisfying...
but building a coil is alot like riding a bike... you will fall over a
couple of times before you get the hang of it...
then its off to the BMX circuit ;)~
