I used a 12/30 NST in my high efficiency TT-42 TC.  It gives 42"  sparks 
from a robust 12/30  NST.  A typical 15/30 NST will give 42"  sparks also
 if installed on this coil.  I used a 120 bps sync rotary spark  gap and 
4" x 13" spun aluminum toroid.  Other specs and info at my  website:
