Here is a company, Fulton Innovation, that claims to advance the
practicality of wireless power transmission using more advanced methods
than the primitive one used by the MIT gang.  Here is just one excerpt
from their website:  eCoupled has efficiencies near that of plug and
socket connections, and, compared to traditional inductive coupling
solutions, improves power transfer

efficiencies dramatically. The highly improved efficiency is a function
of several design concepts, particularly the eCoupled’s ability to
dynamically

seek resonance under changing loads and conditions and the use of high
frequency components.

My opinion is that their claims seem too good to be true.  The company is
in Ada, MI.  Anyone near them that could see first-hand their product?
