Hi, Ray you have covered the subject nicely! i was hoping someone would call
out the truth of the matter. there is also a solder that will mate copper to
alum, however, it has a short shelf life and quite expensive. it is used for
motors wound with aluminum wire and joins the flexible copper going to the
wire box. multiple wires are cleaned, fluxed, a band crimped over copper and
aluminum wires, then soldered together.
12 years rebuilding alternators, starters, and motors.....i have been there
