Hi Chris,
Every capacitive device has a small amount of inductance and resistance.
Likewise, every inductive device has a small amount of capacitance and
resistance. Therefore, every such component has a frequency at which its
XL = -XC. If
the resistance is negligible, the component will tend to oscillate at
this
frequency.
Hope this helps,
Matt D.

Hi Paul,
Not sure what you are getting at with self res freq ? I don't know what
it
is and doubt I would be able to measure it. The caps are supposed to have
zero L&R though think that's a bit of a lie in the datasheet as they must
have *some*.
They are all flat plate caps, over 200 of them in parallel. Any problems
there would probably be self inflicted with all the wiring, though they
are
fixed between 2 large sheets of copper sheet and all kept as physically
close as possible. I can send you some images off list if needs be.
Chris
