Hi All,
I've got a bunch of DC Gear Reduction Motors on hand.
http://www.classictesla.com/temp/gm_2.JPG
A couple small crates worth (guessing about 100 motors on hand) that I
was once selling on eBay, but lost interest. I would like now to clear
out some space in my garage, but I can't see throwing these motors out.
They are perfect for winding machines.
So, I'm now offering them for free. If you would like a few (not too
many as I'd like to make sure everyone that want's one gets one), just
email me "off the TCML" to my personal email (bartb@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).
You will need to pay for shipping, but that's all. Contact me off the
list about payment methods for shipping. USPS flat rate is the cheapest
and about $8 to anywhere in the US.
The motors "are" used, but I will hook up each one to ensure it works
and "sounds" normal. These motors were custom made or a low profile
application requiring high torque. Their direct from Germany. The motor
includes an internal clutch which limits the current to about 3.2 amps.
Thus, you can stall these motors for a brief period without damaging or
demagnetizing the motor. Of course, the longer they are in a stall
condition, the more ware that is put onto the clutch. The gear reduction
is 512:1 and I have a few that are 400:1 (I think). They are designed
for 24 VDC. The shaft will spin 1 revolution every 8 seconds at that
voltage. So, really low speed (which is why they are great for winding
machines). However, they are high torque and that is something to be
aware of. The motors new are $400 ea., but were purchased in higher
quantities where the cost was reduced to $100 ea. I'm letting them go
for free except shipping.
If you want one, two, three, etc.., just send me an email.
Take care,
Bart
