   I think is a misunderstanding of what he actually did.  His 
papers include measurements of antenna patterns with current in the 
receiving antenna shown but this was not an attempt to transfer power 
in the same concept that Tesla proposed.  He was experimented 
with  numerous configurations of high gain antennas (called them 
"Wave Canals") and his designs are very popular unto this day.
