You could silver plate everything if you really wanted to but I doubt you
would change the Q enough to make it worth the effort. Specifically, the
voltage drop over an inch or two of the electrode isn't even worth including
it your computations. Just my opinion, and you know what they say about
opinions don't you?

Hey all,
     Knowing that the skin effect causes most of the current to travel on
the outside of conductors, would it be worth my trouble to copper plate the
tungsten rods in my spark gap?  I have a few ideas of how to do this, but I
am not sure if it would be worth my time.  Thanks.
