A nice filament voltage control...

...I found a great little dimmer type controller in my
old chemistry equipment.  It was used to control the
temperature of a flash/beaker warmer.  It's good up to
600 watts, so no problem for fine tuning my filament
transformer to reach the correct voltage for a
multitude of tube types.  Now I won't have to haul two
heavy variacs around everytime I want to test out a
new vttc configuration.
