Hi, or you can get OHFC silver plated wire with the usual coatings of
insulation for easy money. real gold plated wire is a speciality item.
wire wrap wire is usually silver plated kynar coated wire, comes from #24 to
#30 wire sizes and a whole bunch of colors too. color and lower

I don't know why I'm commenting on this but, if you really wanted to do
this, you wouldn't need solid core, jost gold plated wire. After clear coat
is applied, it would be the most beautiful thing in your home! Go for it
man.

Gold might have some advantage but it would be
prohibitavley expensive as gold is around $8,000
more or less a pound.  you would also have to
find somewhere that sells it in lengths and
gauges that you need- which would be somewhere
around 24awg and around half a pound for a
respectable sized secondary.  all in all this
dose not sound like a good idea- (i dont even
know if it would work) too expensive for little
or probably no benefit.  however you can find
gold and all sorts of colors and sizes of proper
magnet wire at this website:
