Yes I'm getting a little corona at the bottom of the Extra Coil.
I didn't notice it wile running the coil, But I noticed it in the photos.
Its not real bad but it will be interesting to see what happens with
a corona ring.
I don't know about the gas chemistry in the spark gap.
It would be nice to read a little more about that.
It would make sense that the brass component metals
would oxidize at the spark temps and tie up some oxygen.
Each gap has it's own enclosed air chamber created by the white
pvc spacer ring. Each of the three gaps is about .097" for a total of .29"

Are you getting corona on the bottom of the extra coil? Probably along
the transmission wire also I expect.
Is your quench gap the type which burns off the Oxygen leaving a
Nitrogen atmosphere? Gasket between disc gap?
