Don't use a nst for an elec fence. Even 20-30 mA will burn grass and sometimes start it on fire. If you do this in Calif you will probably get sued.
You could use a small OBIT, just use one terminal, which is 5 kV, and then 
put a very large high voltage current limiting resistor in series with it to 
keep the current around 600-600 uA.  Higher current is not recommended due 
to the fire danger.
With the rabbit problem, just import a coyote from us here in AZ and don't 
feed him very much.  Let him out to hunt every night.  End of rabbit 
problem.  Also eliminates all cats and small barking dogs in your 
neighborhood.

I'd be interested in those pics. I've always toyed with the idea of using 
an nst for an electric fence. I've also thought of using an mot to keep 
rabits out of my yard as they destroy the grass.
