Re: MMC Cap .005 uf 40KV

The correct number per series depends on the type of power xmfr you are running and the size of your pri - sec coils. Most experimenters use the Cornell-Dublier caps, 0.15 uF, 2 kV. If running a PT or pole xmfr we run 18 caps per series section, producing .0083 uF per section, 36 kV pulse rating, and then parallel them to get the value desired. If running a nst you can usually get by with 16 caps per series, 32 kV pulse rating, giving .009375 uF per series section, then parallel sections to get the value you require.

I sell them. Contact me off-list for info. Off-list I can also email you photos of how we mount and arrange the caps of PE sheets.

I will need to know the quantity you require.

I need to build an MMC cap.

The cap I am replacing is .005 uf 40KV.

Where do I buy the correct capacitors?

What are the best sizes caps to use?

What are the best type caps to buy?

What is the best way to connect them?
