Re: GFI NST transformer

Original poster: nancylavoie@xxxxxxxxxxx Yes,exactly! A couple people have problems with a component be it a cap or a transformer, and watch out! It"s mass hysteria."Oh no,my salvage surplus cap just blew up." Or this failed,or "I couldn't get this to work so it must be trash and not worth using.Sometimes I'm astounded by the sheep mentality that exists in a hobby that science would seem to be such an integral part of.Example: The capacitor thing-In a hobby where most of us are using salvaged caps I think it's pretty fair to expect one to pop every now and then considering that there is no way of knowing how these things were treated previously. These things are not indestructable, but many of us use them with great results.Same idea with the GFI NSTs.Todds worked.Mine worked (and I know we're not the only ones to pull this off.Especially since I did absolutely nothing out of the ordinary with my set up to get this to work with the GFI).Let's leave this lack of discipline and crying wolf to the New Age "Sci ence" nuts and keep our stuff honest and informative.Sorry about the rant.
