I do remember. So did you ever fire it up? I was curious if these had 
too much inductance in their standard connected form (which was 
paralelled outer winding stacks in the 480 V mode)? I also kicked the 
idea around of de-winding one of these a bit if the  L was too high 
at start (no dc in). Some of these big SRs have soo much L that the 
voltage drop is significant, and for my application I need around 100 
ma on the hv out...

ANYWAY, The 12.5 kva choke is likely sold - but I bump in to these 
occasionally. It is an actual reactor from a bombarding transformer 
set-up. It weighs about 50 lbs, and imho, is the best method for 
current regulation in an SG based tesla coil system. Sometimes 
saturable reactors are unstable when coupled with a transformer 
driving a cap. Not really an issue when processing neon tubes - but 
they can be strange in a TC application.
