Re: Maxwell 37667 pulse caps

Okay.. here it goes,
Ive been running a combination of the following caps in my BIGPIG set
up for the last several years and have probably put well over 100+
total hours on them...
remember now, I'm pumping up to 28,800 - 32,000 VAC into the primary
circuit of the the coil too...
there is a total of 4 caps, all in series
2 @ series # 31160 50KV .23uF
2 @ series # 31231 50KV .14 uF
if my math is correct thats 200 KV at .043uf
I beleieve its more of a factor of having a high voltage capacity in
the cap set up compared to the supply voltage being pumped into the
caps that will allow a better life expectancy.... what else
explains the longevity of the system I am using??

Chip,
BIG SNIPPERZ..
Most of the Maxwell 31xxx series capacitors are rated for just 1 pps,
but most of the 37xxx series are rated between 100 and 1000 pps.
