So, in general, how do their power handling capabilities compare to semiconductors (speed, voltage, current, etc.)?

Out of curiosity, how fast to vacuum tubes switch?


    No general answer but generally in the range of less than a
nanosecond to perhaps 100 nanoseconds.  Among other things switching
speed depends on how hard you drive the grid, the size of the circuit
(lead length and stuff like that), and the operating voltage.
