so you were relying only on safety gaps? then what do you think about this:

Oh, funny you should bring that up. As a matter of fact, I didn't adjust the safety gaps (could be the part of the "silent" problem).

hmm, 6 thousand exactly 300 volts - it sounds familiar to me, but why?
maybe because of about 20 MVA they running all around here from 6kv? : D

Interesting. I like the configuration. Seems 3-phase is norm there. I noticed the color codes on the strapping as well as the overhead buss lines. What is the color scheme represent?
